Cucumber Facial

Cucumber and puree

Yesterday, I found this huge cucumber in my garden!  I don’t know how it managed to hide from me for so long.  This discovery inspired a mini spa night.  I pureed a piece of the cuke to make 1/4 cup of puree, then added some cosmetic clay; about 2 tsps. to make a cleansing mask.  While the cucumber and clay were mingling and producing a very pleasing aroma, I put together a herbal footbath.  I like to use an old turkey roasting pan. One of the speckled kind.    In it , I put some fine sea salt, a handful of dried Calendula flowers, and hot water.  Soaked my feet while wearing the refeshing mask with cucumber slices over my eyes.  After drying my feet and rinsing my face, I decided that the left over cucumber mask would be good for my feet.  It sure was!  Follwed by a good moisturizing application of Owyhe hydrosol lotion, my face feet and even hands looked years younger.  Talk about soft and smooth!  Last, but not the least important,  my mini spa evening only cost a few pennies since I only used things that were around the house.  Best of all the results were superior.
